Things are beginning to heat up on the recruiting trail for Michigan State basketball. Tom Izzo is yet to earn a commitment in the 2025 class but it appears some dominos may be ready to fall.

On Tuesday Michigan State found out that one of their top priority targets in Darius Adams included them in his top three schools.

It is unclear exactly where the Spartans stand in his recruitment right now as no official predictions have been made yet, but there are some reasons to feel a little confident.

Adams was in East Lansing this past weekend on a visit so the fact that he cut his list to three schools this soon after the visit is a good sign to see. This tells us that his visit went well enough to the point where he at least still has a little interest in Michigan State. But on top of that Adams cancelled a visit to Alabama once his visit to MSU was complete as well.

This tells us that his visit to Michigan State went so well that he didn't even need to give the Tide another chance in his recruitment.

MSU will have to beat out both Tennessee and two-time defending national champion UConn to win Adams' services. Whenever MSU is going up against UConn my confidence is not high, but we'll have to see how this plays out.

Michigan State also found out on Monday that they made the top three for fellow five-star recruit Jalen Haralson who will be announcing his commitment on Wednesday. Fun fact, both Adams and Haralson play for the same school in Indiana, so maybe there's a slim chance MSU ends up with both. I wouldn't hold my breath for that though.

My fear is that the most likely scenario is that Michigan State misses on both of these recruits, but I still don't think that would be the end of the world if that's how it plays out. Izzo is after many other highly ranked recruits still, so even if he misses with these two the sky is far from falling.
