Detroit Old Redford is loaded with a couple of top recruits in the state of Michigan for 2019 and 2020 and the most talked about one, at least right now, is Mark “Rocket” Watts. The junior point guard from the Motor City is ranked No. 107 overall in the class and as the 17th-best point guard. On top of that, he’s the state of Michigan’s fourth-best 2019 prospect.

Watts is being courted by both Michigan and Michigan State and there are rumors that the Wolverines are going in on him 100 percent. That will force Tom Izzo’s hand a bit.

It’s unclear where Watts ranks on Izzo’s big board of 2019 recruits, but he has to be near the top given his proximity to Michigan State and the mutual interest — oh yeah, and the talent level.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound point guard from Detroit is shifty and can be considered a playmaker at his position. He can get his teammates the ball with no-look passes and make it look easy. He’s difficult to stay in front of and can even step back to make the long-range shots.
