3. Aaron Henry, 3-star SF (Indianapolis, Ind.)

Michigan State is no stranger to recruiting the state of Indiana and now that Tom Crean is gone, the Spartans may have early luck in the state as Archie Miller tries to get acclimated and build new relationships as the Hoosiers’ new head coach.

In fact, the Hoosiers weren’t even in the top five for Henry, which he released just this past week. He listed programs like Michigan State, Illinois, Xavier, Butler and Ohio State, but no Indiana, which was a surprise to some, but it’s obvious he didn’t have a relationship with the new Hoosiers coach.

Fortunately, the Spartans made the cut after offering him just a couple of days earlier. Some called it a stretch offer or a “backup plan” which it very well might be, but overall, Henry is a solid player and a guy who could round out the class. He’s not an eye-popping talent and he’s not going to wow you with freakish athleticism, but he can score when he needs to.

Henry isn’t afraid to put the ball on the floor and make a move to the basket, taking a couple of defenders with him. He can even finish at the hoop or kick it out to an open teammate. He’s 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds and has a strong frame. The staff has been contacting him more lately, making him seem like the backup to the top two options.

The three-star is ranked No. 164 overall in the class and is the 44th-best small forward.
