3. J'Vonne Hadley, Colorado

Now it's time for the wildest, most back and forth recruitment I've potentially ever seen. Michigan State and Tom Izzo once again reached out to J'Vonne Hadley pretty early on, and quickly found out they were in his top two schools as they, along with Iowa State, scheduled a Zoom meeting with him.

After those Zoom meetings, Iowa State was the team to pick up two crystal ball predictions in their favor, making it seem like MSU was left in the dust. No harm no foul, right? Players choose other schools all the time, so losing any one recruitment isn't that big of a deal. However, just a few days after those crystal balls were placed, both insiders changed their prediction from the Cyclones to undecided.

On the surface this seemed like a positive development for Michigan State. They were his only other finalist, so maybe this meant he was beginning to trend to the Spartans. Not so fast.

It turns out that two brand new schools got involved, USC and Louisville, and he completely eliminated Michigan State from contention.

On Tuesday Hadley made it official and committed to Louisville.

This recruitment unfortunately gets chalked up as a loss for Michigan State, but I personally am not too upset about it. He was never a transfer the Spartans needed to get, in my opinion, and after seeing how he handled his recruitment, it might have been best for both parties that he didn't come to MSU.
