The urgency for Michigan State football to start adding some recruits to their 2025 class is beginning to ramp up. The Spartans are the only Big Ten school without a commit so far, which is very concerning considering it is mid-April. This isnt due to Jonathan Smith not making a huge recruiting effort so far this cycle, it's more of just the recruit that MSU is targeting want to be patient in their recruitments.

However, the Spartans first commit could be on the horizon as an in-state linebacker with multiple predictions in favor of Michigan State has just announced a commitment date.

Charles White is a three-star linebacker from Orchard Lake, Mich. He is one of the top prospects from the state of Michigan, coming in at No. 10 in the state according to 247Sports. Their composite rankings also have White as the No. 594 player in the country and the No. 66 linebacker. He recently announced that he will be annoucing his commitment later this month on April 27.

As I mentioned, White has many predictions in favor of Michigan State. 247Sports has five predictions in total in favor of the Spartans that were all logged within the last week. On3 also joined in on the fun and placed their prediction on April 12 for Charles to commit to MSU as well.

White has recently visited Michigan State on April 6, which was a couple of days before the 247Sports predictions came in. He also has an official visit to East Lansing already scheduled as well later this summer on June 7. So all of these predictions and the future visit make it pretty clear that the Spartans are likely in store for some good news on April 27.

Two other schools also have official visits scheduled with White as well. This includes Boston College on May 31 and Kansas on June 14. It is unclear if he will still take these visits if he commits to Michigan State, but there is a chance he will cancel them both.

I know you are all just as ready as I am to start seeing Jonathan Smith build this class. Hopefully we will only have to wait two more weeks and we will finally get to celebrate the Spartans' first commitment in the 2025 class.
