Michigan State football is trending for a 2025 in-state linebacker
Michigan State football and head coach Jonathan Smith will wrap up their first spring practice schedule next weekend, meaning that recruiting will be front and center for the rest of the summer.
The Spartans are yet to earn a commitment in the 2025 class, but that could change any day now as MSU is the apparent leader in many recruitments.
One recruit in particular, Charles White, appears to be on his way to committing to the Spartans. He already has five crystal balls from 247Sports to commit to Michigan State, and now On3 recruiting expert Jason Killop has placed a prediction in favor of the Spartans.
Charles White is a three-star linebacker from West Bloomfield, Mich. According to On3, he is the No. 542 player in the country and the No. 60 linebacker. He also is a top 10 player from the state of Michigan. Along with the prediction from On3 for Charles to commit to Michigan State, they also give MSU a 95.3 percent chance to win this recruitment.
White has seemingly been pretty high on the Spartans for quite some time now. He was recently on a visit to Michigan State on April 6, and it was days after this visit when the crystal balls on 247Sports began flooding in. He also already has his official visit scheduled for June 7. Now that this additional prediction from On3 has been placed, it is abundantly clear that MSU is the leader.
White does have a couple of other official visits scheduled for this summer as well. He will be visiting Boston College on May 31 and Kansas on June 14. He likely will go on these visits still and make an official commitment soon after, but there is always the chance he will commit to MSU soon and shut down the rest of his recruitment.
Regardless of when he commits, the Spartans have to love where they stand. MSU is in as good of a position as you can be with Charles beyond receiving an actual commitment, so this may just be a matter of time before he officially beomes a Spartan.
