Michigan State football is at an interesting point in their offseason. Spring practice is coming to an end soon and they are approaching summer official visit season. But there's only one problem: Jonathan Smith has not earned a committment in the 2025 high school class yet.

The Spartans are the only Big Ten school without a commit yet, so hopefully they will start adding commitments soon.

The lack of commitments isn’t from a lack of effort. In fact, MSU is the leader in many recruitments as it stands today.

Here are four names the Spartans currently lead for that Michigan State fans should keep an eye on.

1. Three-star DL Brad Fitzgibbon

The first recruit the Spartans lead for according to On3 is three-star defensive lineman Brad Fitzgibbon. Brad is from Chicago and is the No. 650 player in the country and No. 54 player at his position.

It's clear why Michigan State is the leader in his recruitment as well. He has taken multiple unofficial visits to East Lansing the last couple weeks, the first being on March 24 and the second on April 2. For any recruit to take two visits that close together on their own dime is significant.

But it doesn't stop there. Fitzgibbon also has an official visit scheduled for the weekend of May 31 as well. He also has official visits scheduled with Arizona State and Kansas later this summer as well, so those are two teams to keep an eye on.

On3 has made an official prediction for MSU to win Fitzgibbon's recruitment on April 2. They also give the Spartans a 92.3% chance to win his recruitment as well. There is no indication that he will commit anytime soon, but the Spartans have to love where they stand.
