Just days after Michigan State football added its first commitment to the 2025 class, Jonathan Smith is once again making some noise. This time it’s on the defensive side of the ball as a talented in-state linebacker has committed to MSU.

Charles White is a three-star linebacker from Orchard Lake, Mich. He is a high-rising recruit and is ranked very highly in the eyes of 247Sports. According to the recruiting site, White is the No. 605 player in the country and the No. 67 linebacker. He’s also the No. 10 player from the state of Michigan as well.

White chose Michigan State over a few other Power Four schools, including Purdue, Boston College, and Kansas. It’s important to note that White still has official visits scheduled for this summer with all three of these schools, as well as to Michigan State beginning June 7.

White has been trending to Michigan State for a few weeks now, dating back to the beginning of April. White took a visit to East Lansing on April 6 and it was that visit that really took Michigan State to the top of his recruitment. Just days later on the 9th, White received his first official prediction to commit to the Spartans. After that, the predictions kept rolling in throughout the month, and now White is officially a Spartan.

White joins three-star California quarterback Leo Hannan as the two Michigan State commits in the 2025 class. It took Smith a little time to get the class rolling, but now he has a lot of momentum on the Spartans' side. So don’t be surprised to see another high school commitment soon.
