Michigan State football gets first 2025 commitment in 3-star QB Leo Hannan
The dominos are finally falling for Michigan State football in its 2025 high school recruiting class. MSU was yet to earn a commitment in the 2025 class as we’ve reached late April, which is a very scary thing if you ask me.
That, however, all changed Monday night when the Spartans received their first 2025 commitment at the most important position in football.
Quarterback Leo Hannan is the first recruit in the 2025 class to commit to Michigan State. Hannan is a three-star quarterback from Anaheim, Calif., and is one of the top quarterbacks in the country. According to 247Sports, Hannan is the No. 22 quarterback in the country and the No. 37 player from the state of California as well. Not too bad if you ask me.
It was reaching the point where any commitment for Michigan State would be huge, but this arguably is the best way the Spartans could’ve started their 2025 class. The quarterback for any recruiting class is always an important piece and is usually the rallying point for any school. Then you add in the fact that Hannan is one of the top quarterbacks in the country and you quickly see how massive this commitment really could be.
It’s no secret that recruits want to play with other talented recruits. So when guys see that the No. 22 quarterback in the country committed to Michigan State, that might make them more likely to give the Spartans a second look or even commit themselves.
Regardless of what dominos fall after Hannan, this is a huge commitment. You always want your coaching staff to get their No. 1 quarterback target, and that’s exactly what Jonathan Smith and his staff were able to accomplish. The sky is the limit with this staff, and I have a feeling we’re in for more good news in the coming weeks.
