Former Michigan State basketball stars are all over NBA Summer League teams this summer as they look to impress the NBA organizations hoping to make an NBA roster at the end of the summer. Two of those guys that are playing this summer are Joey Hauser and Malik Hall.

While both have had great moments so far during Summer League, they’ve also struggled at times as well. And that included Tuesday night where both Hauser and Hall had nights they’ll wish to forget.

Joey Hauser struggled at NBA Summer League

Hauser is playing in his second Summer League, this time with the New Orleans Pelicans. He had an impressive showing less than a week ago when he scored seven points in 15 minutes. However, Tuesday nights game did not go his way.

In the Pelicans 90-85 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Hauser failed to score a single point in the15 minutes he played. He still had a positive plus/minus which is good to see, but overall this was not a good showing for him.

The Pelicans only have two more games remaining, so Hauser is going to have to play well now if he’s going to make his mark and impress an NBA team enough to make a roster.

Malik Hall fails to see the court with the Hornets

Hall on the other hand had the opposite problem compared to Hauser. He didn’t get any playing time in Charlotte’s 80-66 win over Denver.

Hall was unfortunately only put in the game for one minute Tuesday night and did not record a single stat.

This isn’t the first time this has happened to Hall either, as he failed to see the court in a game last week as well. The fact that Hall isn’t playing at all makes no sense, because he did have a solid game last week when they gave him some time on the court. But unfortunately, the Hornets see things a little differently than we do when it comes to Hall.

Hall only has two more games to make an impact with the Hornets this summer, so let’s hope he gets his chance and proves himself again.
