The newest member of Michigan State’s 2020 recruiting class, Terry Lockett brings plenty of play-making abilities to the table.

More from Recruiting

Ranked a four-star by some recruiting services, 247Sports has Lockett listed as a three-star and the No. 557 player in the country as well as the No. 97 receiver. He reminds me a little of a Hunter Rison or RJ Shelton type who can line up in the slot and take a short slant to the house or even return punts and kicks — something the Spartans desperately need.

Lockett picked Michigan State over the likes of Nebraska, Minnesota, Cincinnati and Iowa and he seems to have an incredibly high ceiling.

Although he’s not the biggest receiver at 6-foot-0, 165 pounds, he has the speed and elusiveness to become a problem for defenses.

Michigan State is losing Darrell Stewart Jr. this season and although it has a number of young receivers to fill that void, Lockett could see the field because he has plenty of speed — and speed is a valuable commodity when it comes to competing for division titles.
