Junior wide receiver Monty Madaris is finally “100 percent” healthy and the Spartan coaching staff believes he will be able to contribute heavily to this year’s squad.

In fact, receivers coach Terry Samuel had nothing but nice things to say about the now-healthy former highly-touted wide out from Ohio, according to Joe Rexrode of the Detroit Free Press:
"“He catches the ball outstanding. He runs great routes, he runs hard routes. He’s very similar to Keith (Mumphery). He will go get it wherever it is presented. If it means he blocks somebody, he’ll block somebody hard. If it means run a nice route, a crisp route, he does that, as well. He’s really got the package; it’s just a matter of he needs to come out there and play, and I just hope we don’t have any more setbacks with injuries.”"
Michigan State is looking to lean on another receiver not named Macgarrett Kings Jr. or Aaron Burbridge as Connor Cook has struggled to really lock down a No. 3 receiver. If there’s going to be any game in which Madaris could break out it’s got to be this one.
Purdue hasn’t heard much of him, so he could be the Spartans’ secret weapon.
