Mark Dantonio has been very aware of freshman starting quarterback David Blough as he comes to Michigan State for his second start of the season against the Spartans, according to Mike Carmin of JColine.

"“(Blough) has the ability to get out of the pocket a little bit and scramble and move,” Dantonio said. “They ran some quarterback draws with him. I’m sure they can do some other things with him. They will spread out a little bit. Looks like a good athlete and that’s the decision they have made, and I thought he played well last week.”"

Blough might be the best quarterback to lead Purdue in quite some time, but it’s a little early to tell just how good he really is. However, in his first career start against Bowling Green last week, he did everything he could to keep the Boilermakers in the game. He completed 29-of-39 passes for 340 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Michigan State’s secondary will definitely be tested in this one by a strong-armed, mobile quarterback with multiple targets, so it could end up being a shootout in East Lansing.

Blough is definitely a candidate to break out here against the No. 2 team in the country — a real opportunity to make a name for himself.
