Michigan State football will be getting a visit from 2019 five-star offensive tackle Devontae Dobbs on Monday.

It’s never too early to start looking at the 2019 recruiting class, especially with 15 commits in the 2018 group already. Michigan State football will be hosting a wealth of prospects on Monday, including a handful of 2019 stars.

One of those stars from the 2019 class is five-star offensive tackle Devontae Dobbs. The Belleville, Mich., native is being targeted by the Michigan State staff in hopes of keeping that pipeline to the city strong.

In fact, Michigan State recently received commitments from four-star basketball star Gabe Brown and three-star cornerback Davion Williams, both from Belleville. Julian Barnett, a four-star 2019 athlete from Belleville, is expected to be on campus Monday as well.

According to 247Sports‘ Sean Scherer, Dobbs will be on campus Monday for the start of fall camp at Michigan State.

Dobbs went on to say that the Spartans have been showing him a lot of interest. They seem to be in that group of programs that has a chance to land him in 2019. There’s plenty of ground to make up with programs such as Clemson (a “dream come true” offer), Ohio State and Michigan.

The five-star left tackle plays to the whistle and his 6-foot-4, 270-pound frame is too much for defenders to handle. He often overpowers his man on the line and drives him down the field. He would likely be an instant starter on the Spartans’ offensive line.

Dobbs is ranked the No. 9 overall prospect in the 2019 class as well as the top tackle and in-state recruit, according to 247Sports. He holds early offers from Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Arkansas, Nebraska, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, UCLA, and Wisconsin — along with MSU, Ohio State, Clemson and Michigan, among others.
