Tom Izzo and Michigan State basketball just received some good news earlier this week as four-star shooting guard Jasiah Jervis committed to the good guys.

It looks like more good news might be on the way.

With the commitment of Jervis, Michigan State’s 2026 recruiting class has jumped to No. 4 nationally. The Spartans also hold commitments from Julius Avent and Carlos Medlock Jr., two more four-stars in the 2026 class who happen to be ranked in the top 80.

On Friday, however, the Spartans’ top remaining target announced a decision date, and it’s in exactly one week at 4 p.m. ET on CBS Sports’ YouTube channel.

Ethan Taylor is reportedly down to Indiana, Kansas, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Michigan State, and it feels like the Spartans have all the momentum in this one. While the rest of his top five is pretty loaded, Michigan State made a huge impression on him during his official visit, and it’d be pretty shocking if he ended up anywhere else but East Lansing.

Taylor would be the five-star center for which fans have been begging for years. He is ranked the No. 2 center in the 2026 class and he’s also No. 23 overall in the class.

Izzo has been killing it on the recruiting trail lately, and landing consecutive classes with guys like Jordan Scott, Cam Ward, Jervis, Medlock, Avent, and Taylor could yield some incredible results in a year or two. Michigan State fans are excited about the future, and the addition of Taylor would get “title No. 2” talk revved up again.
