Tom Izzo and Michigan State basketball are working hard on the recruiting trail following the 2024-25 season and while he has addressed some needs for the 2025-26 season in the transfer portal, he is turning his attention to the 2026 class.

The Spartans are getting ready to tip off for the annual Moneyball Pro-Am and Izzo will be watching his players take part, but he's also working on kickstarting the 2026 class.

Over the past 10 days, Izzo has added three major prospects to his target list.

It started with an offer to four-star big man Quinn Costello (no relation to Matt from what I can find) on June 13. He's the No. 74 prospect in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports as well as the No. 13 big man. He hails from Boston, Mass.

Just one day later, Izzo offered four-star power forward Julius Avent from Oradell, N.J., who is the No. 76 prospect in the composite and No. 99 on 247Sports. Avent is the No. 13 power forward in the class and the third-best prospect from New Jersey.

Lastly, four-star center Tristan Reed received an offer from the Spartans. He's ranked the No. 72 recruit in thr 2026 class by 247Sports and he's also the No. 7 center. He stands just 6-foot-8 so he's smaller in regards to what we should expect from a Big Ten center, but he still has time to grow.

Three top-100 big men have been added to Izzo's target list for 2026 in the past 10 days and it looks like he's making the post a priority in the next cycle (although a point guard is important, too).
