When Tyren Wortham committed to Michigan State football back in June, it caught pretty much everyone by surprise. No one was expected a four-star receiver flip randomly in the middle of official visit season, but he liked what he saw from Jonathan Smith's program on his visit.
Previously, Wortham was committed to UCF but Smith and Courtney Hawkins worked hard to earn a visit and a subsequent flip from the talented wideout from Sarasota, Fla.
Being from SEC country, Wortham has likely received plenty of interest from some of college football's "big dogs". He holds several impressive offers, but he has remained solid with the Spartans for the past couple of months.
That could be changing, however.
It sounds like a couple of SEC programs are pushing for a Wortham flip from Michigan State and the four-star receiver has reportedly scheduled a visit.

The story is behind a paywall on On3, but if you click it, the title gives away the two teams who are working hard to flip the four-star receiver from Michigan State: Auburn and Georgia.
I wrote about this a couple of weeks ago, but it feels like this one is going to come down to the wire. While Wortham is committed to Michigan State and the Spartans have one of the best receivers coaches in the country, he's going to be pursued by some bigger programs who see him as an attainable flip. Smith and Hawkins are going to have to recruit him until signing day.
Wortham is ranked the No. 239 overall recruit and 40th-best receiver in the 2026 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He'll be one to keep an eye on.
Let's hope he's just using this as a free trip and he avoids #FlipWatch.
