We are officially one practice into the 2025 Michigan State football season.
Tuesday kicked off the Spartans' fall camp and Jonathan Smith and a handful of his players got a chance to speak to the media and provide some updates and outlooks for the team.
Smith was obviously the first person to speak to the media during practice and he provided plenty of solid updates including which guys are standing out (he mentioned true freshman Derrick Simmons first) as well as some injury news.
Fortunately for Michigan State, there are no season-ending injuries to report.
Jonathan Smith confirms no season ending injuries, says the team is being cautious with some players.

It feels like Michigan State heads into every fall camp with some major injuries and that's been a long-standing tradition for the Spartans. However, that is not the case to start camp this year.
This is great news, too, considering the Spartans have some key players coming off season-ending injuries like Kristian Phillips and Gavin Broscious and a guy like Darius Snow has been battling injuries for years. It's good to hear that the Spartans are currently healthy enough, but being cautious with some guys who don't need to be overdoing anything this early on.
While Michigan State hasn't made a bowl game since 2021, the talent is there to make the postseason and the players even admitted it was there last year, too.
But I truly think that the injuries and inconsistency in the trenches really changed the outlook of the season and Aidan Chiles even missed time during the Indiana game due to an injury and we all saw how that one finished.
If this team can stay healthy throughout fall camp and head into the regular season at full strength, I think the Spartans will surprise a lot of people.
