Tom Izzo has made every Michigan State basketball fan happy so far this offseason when it comes to the transfer portal. Many were hesitant surrouding his ues of the transfer portal, simply because he has refused to use it the past couple years. That isn't the case this year as Michigan State has been publically linked with three transfers in the portal so far.

Now that Izzo is active in the portal, we have to hope he lands someone.

So let's see where MSU stands with the three transfers they have contacted so far.

1. J'Vonne Hadley

Colorado transfer J'Vonne Hadley is the first player that Izzo contacted in the portal this offseason. We found out very early on that the Spartans were in Hadley's top two as they were one of just two schools that conducted a Zoom meeting with him earlier this past week.

After that meeting, Michigan State received even more good news as Iowa State, who was the other team in Hadley's top two, received a commitment from another transfer at the same position as Hadley. So that fact along with Hadley's other MSU connections (same high school as Tre Holloman and beginning his college career with Tyson Walker at Northeastern) made me think Michigan State stood a good chance.

That unfortunately doesn't appear to be the case anymore. Saturday night, Hadley received two crystall ball predictions on 247Sports to commit to Iowa State. Recruitments are never over until the player commits, but this one appears to be trending away from Michigan State.
