Michigan State basketball has received a lot of good news on the recruiting trail recently. This includes finding out they made the top three for a top 60 recruit in the country as well as some rumors swirling that they were one of the schools targeting the No. 1 recruit in the country the hardest.

And now we fast forward a little bit and the Spartans are seeing another positive development for one of the top recruits in the 2025 class.

Braylon Mullins is a four-star guard from Greenfield,Ind. According to 247Sports, he is the No. 23 player in the entire country. Mullins is also the No. 5 shooting guard as well as the No. 3 player from the state of Indiana as well.

Mullins is about as close to a five-star as you can possibly be, but he hasn’t been ranked this high for very long. In fact, just last month Mullins had one of the biggest recruiting jumps that I have seen in quite some time. In 247Sports’ rankings, Mullins moved all the way from No. 92 in the country to No. 24 in mid-June. A nearly 70-spot improvement isn’t that large overall, but it’s pretty wild when you consider how that increase occurred when he was already in the top 100.

Mullins will be taking a visit to Michigan State on Aug. 29, which is the day before the football team’s first game. So he likely will be able to take in that game while in town and witness how great the Michigan State fanbase is.

No predictions have been made in his recruitment yet, but a few other notable schools also have upcoming visits as well. According to his 247Sports profile, Mullins also has upcoming visits to Michigan, Tennessee, Indiana, and North Carolina.

Based on those teams alone, this will be a tough recruitment to win. But whenever Tom Izzo is heavily involved in a recruitment I’ll always have a little confidence Michigan State can win.
