Michigan State basketball is on an insane recruiting run right now. They are still yet to earn a commitment in the 2025 class yet, but it seems like Tom Izzo and his staff are after pretty much every top recruit in the country.

Not only are they after many of the top recruits, but they are making substantial progress with them as well. That is the case once again as a top 10 player from the 2025 class has announced he is taking an official visit to Michigan State basketball later this month.

Dwayne Aristode is a five-star forward from Wolfeboro, N.H. According to On3, he is the No. 10 player in the entire country. Aristode is also the the No. 5 small forward in the country and the No. 1 player from New Hampshire as well.

Aristode will be visiting Michigan State from Aug. 29-31 which coincides with Michigan State football’s first game of the season. Recruiting visits always seem to go well when there’s a big game on campus, and this will definitely be a fun one for Aristode to attend.

Aristode recently spoke with On3’s Jamie Shaw, and he seems to have a great relationship with Izzo and Michigan State.

"Things are good with them. They like my feel for the game, they tell me that I play the game the right way and that I’m a mature player. They tell me I can work on a lot of things, but they like my size and that I can do a lot of things at my size and my feel for the game."

The downside of this announcement today is who Michigan State’s competition is: the Duke Blue Devils.

I don’t have to remind any of you about the many, many times Duke has beaten Michigan State for a recruit over the years. And unfortunately for MSU Duke is the only other team to schedule an official visit with Aristode in September.

It’s unclear if Michigan State and Duke are Aristode’s official top two or not, but it feels that way at this moment. That’s great news for MSU to be one of the two finalists for a top 10 recruit in the country, but it makes me nervous that Duke is the competition.

Hopefully Izzo knocks his visit out of the park, because this will be a tough recruitment to win.
