We’ve all been watching a lot of the same class of 2025 recruits very closely for quite some time now. Darius Adams and Trey McKenney are a few of the names that come to mine the most thatMichigan State basketball fans have probably heard of more than once.

But how about we spice things up and talk about a new recruit that hasn’t been that connected to Michigan State so far?

Dwayne Aristode is a newer name on the recruiting trail for Michigan State fans, but he’s someone you should probably get to know quickly. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, he is a five-star recruit and the No. 18 player in the country. He also is the No. 5 small forward in the 2025 class and the No. 1 player from New Hampshire.

Aristode recently spoke with Luke Joseph of Michigan State Spartans on SI and shared how things are going in his recruitment with MSU.

"Things are good with them. They like my feel for the game, they tell me that I play the game the right way and that I’m a mature player. They tell me I can work on a lot of things, but they like my size and that I can do a lot of things at my size and my feel for the game."

Now I won’t overreact and act like this quote tells me that he is absolutely in love with Michigan State, but I won’t sit here and say it doesn’t tell us anything either.

First of all he shared that things are good with Michigan State and Tom Izzo. Again, not the most exciting start to a quote I’ve ever seen, but it does start to pick up.

Aristode then goes on to share all these details about his conversation with Izzo and his staff. Things like what they like about his game and areas for improvement sound like topics that have been discussed a lot. And these things coming up tells me that Aristode actually has a very good relationship with Izzo.

I don’t think Izzo shares all of these things with every recruit he speaks to, especially when it comes to areas for improvement. To me that’s something that should be reserved for your top targets. So for Izzo to speak with Aristode this much and to share all of this information is very meaningful to me.

According to his 247Sports profile, Aristode has only taken an official visit to Arizona and has one scheduled with Wake Forest in the future. I imagine things will eventually pick up in his recruitment, and when it does look for Michigan State and Izzo to be at the forefront of it all.
