5-star guard schedules official visit to Michigan State basketball
What an offseason this is turning in for Michigan State basketball. Tom Izzo is firing on all cylinders (outside of earning a commitment) and the targets he is continuously getting great news from is extremely exciting.
Izzo has been scheduling many official visits recently with some high-profile recruits, which once again is happening as a top 20 guard in the country announced an upcoming official visit to Michigan State.
Darius Adams is a five-star guard from La Porte, Ind. A product of La Lumiere High School (which has given MSU Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jeremy Fears Jr.), he is the No. 17 overall player in the country according to 247Sports. Adams also is the No. 4 guard and the No. 2 player from Indiana as well.
Adams has been a top target for Izzo throughout his recruitment, and Adams has also seemed pretty high on Michigan State as well. This past February Adams took an unofficial visit to East Lansing for the Ohio State game. Unfortunately, MSU lost that game, but that didn’t hurt Adams’ interest in Michigan State as he is returning again for an official visit on Sept. 20.
Adams has also set official visits with five other schools including UConn, NC State, Notre Dame, Alabama, and Tennessee. As you can see, this is a star-studded top six, and one I’m not confident in winning after seeing the two-time defending national champs involved. But we all know how great of a recruiter Izzo is, especially recently, so we can never count him out.
These visits will be here before we know it and then Adams said he plans to commit in October. So let’s hope he enjoys his visit and Izzo is able to bring him home to the green and white in October.
