Michigan State basketball is working hard to fill out their 2025 recruiting class, but that doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten about the 2026 class.

Tom Izzo has been after many top targets in the 2026 class as well, but it seems he has his sights set on a lower-ranked recruit too who is bursting into the scene.

DeZhon Hall is a guard in the 2026 class who appears to be very high on Michigan State. The only recruiting site that’s given Hall a ranking is On3 and they have him as a three-star and No. 47 ranked player at his position. Don’t let that low ranking and the fact that the other sites haven’t ranked him scare you because many other top programs are already after Hall as well.

According to Hall himself, he plans to visit Indiana, DePaul, Ohio State, Marquette, and Wisconsin this fall along with Michigan State. Illinois and Texas A&M are two other major programs that have offered Hall as well.

So based off these programs alone you can see that he likely deserves a massive rankings increase, one I expect will come any day now.

When analyzing this recruitment I feel confident Michigan State is one of the top schools in Hall’s recruitment right now. As I mentioned, Izzo has already been visiting and recruiting Hall this offseason, but Hall also took an unofficial visit to Michigan State last year during a football game as well. So Hall’s relationship with MSU has already existed for quite some time now and seems very mutual.

We’ll have to wait and see if he does in fact schedule a visit to Michigan State this fall, and if so then that just validates that the Spartans are near the top of his list right now. Hall’s recruitment still has over a year to go, but you have to love where Izzo has MSU positioned as of today.
