Another day means more positive news for Michigan State basketball on the recruiting trail.

Tom Izzo has been on an absolute heater this offseason with many of the top prospects in the 2025 recruiting class. In fact, Michigan State has seen great developments on the trail with 10 elite targets just in the last month. But in college recruiting you can never take a break, and it appears Izzo and his staff aren’t slowing down anytime soon.

Late on Friday afternoon, Michigan State found out that they’ve made the top 12 for yet another five-star player. This time it’s with Chris Cenac who quite literally is as good as they come as he is the No. 1 center in the entire country according to 247Sports. He also is the No. 14 overall player and No. 1 player from Missouri as well.

As you probably guessed, the competition for Cenac is extremely stiff. UConn, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Baylor, Tennessee, Houston, Louisville, Texas, Kentucky, and Arkansas have all made the cut along with Michigan State.

There are many recruits out there that I have high hopes for that could commit to Michigan State, but Cenac is unfortunately not one of them. This is the first time I have heard MSU’s name attached to Cenac this entire cycle, so that leads me to think Michigan State hasn’t been that involved in his recruitment.

However, I may be completely wrong. Since I’m not on the coaching staff how would I know how much or little contact Izzo or any other member of his staff have had with Cenac? He very well could be one of the staff’s highest priorities. But regardless, I still wouldn’t get my hopes up too high in this recruitment quite yet.

But as long as Michigan State stays in Cenac’s top list they’ll obviously have a chance. He has not scheduled any official visits yet, so when that time comes is when we’ll learn just how interested he is in Michigan State.
