The 2025 recruiting class for Jonathan Smith and Michigan State football is coming together quite nicely after the first-year head coach landed his seventh commitment on Monday.

Following an official visit this past weekend, three-star offensive lineman Drew Nichols has made the decision to join the Spartans' 2025 class along with Leo Hannan, Charles White, Di'Mari Malone, Baylon Collier, Jace Clarizio, and Emmett Bock.

He is the Spartans' seventh 2025 pledge.

It's great to see more recruits buying into the new staff and it feels like all of the hires that Smith has made for position coaches have paid major dividends. This time, it's Jim Michalczik who got praised by the three-star recruit from California.

And it's fair, Michalczik has been known to develop players on the offensive line and had one of the best units in the country last season which yielded a first-round NFL draft pick.

We've seen linemen buying into Michalczik plenty this offseason with guys entering the portal and coming back (although they seemingly left again for NIL deals elsewhere) but even Tanner Miller and Luke Newman have placed their trust in the offensive line coach. It's hard not to trust a guy who turned an offensive line around at a place like Oregon State.

In this case, Nichols trusted Michalczik enough to commit to the Spartans and move across the country despite receiving heavy interest from UCLA. He was supposed to visit the Bruins on June 21, one week after a trip to Boise State.

The Spartans' 2025 class is getting stronger, folks.
