Michigan State basketball has not given up on the pursuit of five-star shooting guard Trey McKenney as it looks like Tom Izzo is doing everything to make sure he ends up in the 2025 class.

The staff has already made him feel like a priority but they checked in on him yet again on Friday.

In fact, the coaching staff was at Cedar Point to check in on McKenney who was playing at a tournament and it just goes to show that he's not coming off the radar any time soon.

McKenney is probably my favorite target for Michigan State in the 2025 class and the St. Mary's star has three dozen offers so it's not going to be an easy recruitment to win, but Izzo is putting in the work. Usually when he's this present with a top recruit, he seals the deal so I wouldn't be shocked to see McKenney spearhead the 2025 class at Michigan State, but fending off some of these big names is going to be a challenge.

In fact, McKenney holds offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA, USC, and Xavier, among others. Everyone is after him but Izzo has the advantage of having him in his own backyard.

The five-star from Flint is ranked the No. 16 recruit in the class and he's the third-best shooting guard and No. 1 prospect from the state of Michigan, per the 247Sports Composite.

We'll see if the staff can close the deal before he starts his senior year.
