Doesn't it feel like forever ago when former Michigan State safety Jaden Mangham committed to Michigan? While it feels like a long time ago, it somehow has only been two and a half months. And in all honesty it still doesn't sit right with me that he transferred to the Wolverines.

But we don't need to get into all of that again.

The drama has subsided online after Michigan State football players reacted to his shocking departure and the Mangham family sounded off on MSU, so now it's been radio silence from both parties for awhile. That is until earlier this week when Mangham spoke on a podcast and compared what it was like at Michigan State to how his short time at Michigan has gone so far.

When watching the video below, it's very strange that Mangham even brought up Michigan State in the first place. The interviewer simply asked Mangham to speak about how his experience at Michigan has been without even mentioning the Spartans, but Mangham just couldn't keep MSU's name out of his mouth.

"Coming in, I can tell it was different. Doing things, lifts, workouts, just running, seeing how people carry themselves, seeing how people prepare, seeing that it was different."

Jaden Mangham

I'll be honest, this first quote from Mangham is pretty harmless. Sure he's indirectly mentioning that he believes the people and preparations taking place are better at Michigan, but overall he kept it pretty tame.

It didn't stay that way for long though.

"There were some guys (at Michigan State) who did do a little bit of that, but it's just so much more here."

Jaden Mangham

This is the point where I think Mangham crossed a line. Sure he doesn't mention anyone specifically at Michigan State, but he's making it quite clear that he doesn't think that things are done the right way at MSU compared to his time at Michigan.

Maybe there is a little truth to that, we all know how disastrous Mel Tucker's tenure ended so it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't preparing the team properly. But Mangham should leave it at that, he doesn't need to be calling out Michigan State's players directly. Especially considering most kept their mouths shut when he transferred to Michigan and everyone hasn't said anything in months.

Mangham then went on to say that he does keep in contact with some of his former teammates at Michigan State, but that makes it even more strange to take a shot at them. Why do that to guys who you are still friends with?

If you wanted to go to Michigan go be at Michigan, there's no reason to continue speaking about things at Michigan State especially in a negative light. Then again that is what Michigan's players, alumni and fans tend to do and we all know how that usually works out for them (Mike Hart are you listening?).

Maybe I'm overreacting a little bit here I don't know, but this just didn't sit right with me.

Hopefully Jonathan Smith and the team see this, because how poetic would it be for Michigan State to go into Ann Arbor later this fall and return with Paul Bunyan wearing the green and white?
