Here’s a name I haven’t heard in awhile. Does anyone remember Michigan State football assistant coach Brandon Jordan? The pass rush specialist was hired in 2022 by Mel Tucker which was praised as one of the best hires that offseason as Tucker made an out of the box hire that had never been seen before.

Jordan had run a successful side business where he would coach up hundreds of NFL defensive lineman. This business became so successful that Tucker ended up hiring him to strictly teach the defense pass rush techniques, and his coaching appeared to work because the Spartan’s defense saw an increase in sacks during the 2022 season.

Jordan’s time at Michigan State however ended quickly because in 2023 he was hired by the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks in the same position. After one season in Seattle he made a move to Ohio State where he spent three months this spring in a similar role before leaving their program.

I wasn’t able to find what Jordan plans on doing next, but he did just announce that he will be in East Lansing this weekend for Michigan State’s game against Ohio State.

Now I’m not suggesting that Michigan State should do anything at all to announce his presence, I actually think they should do the exact opposite. MSU should do absolutely nothing.

I have no ill feelings towards Jordan as his move to Seattle made a lot of sense to me. It was clear his passion was working with NFL guys, so I never held that against him when he left after one short season. However, just because he helped out at MSU doesn’t mean he deserves any recognition, especially during the game when Mark Dantonio is being inducted into the Ring of Honor.

It is pretty interesting however that he’s choosing to come to a game featuring the two college programs he left after very short stints. I don’t know if there’s any bad blood there especially from the Ohio State program, but I doubt anyone will be going out of their way to say what’s up to him.
