Although fall camp's start has stolen the headlines this week, fans everywhere are still playing hours upon hours of EA Sports College Football 25 and that likely won't stop until the season begins.

Michigan State football fans have been raving about the game especially because Aidan Chiles and Nate Carter have been fun to use and the Spartan Stadium atmosphere is right on the money.

It's been fun to play with all of the Spartans for the first time ever as NIL has allowed for the likeness to be used in the game for all players who opt in -- in exchange, they received a free copy of the game. Most Spartans opted into the game, but there were some notable omissions when it came out that had people scratching their heads.

One of the most surprising opt-outs from the new game was veteran linebacker Cal Haladay.

On Tuesday, he cleared the air, explaining why he's not in the game.

No, this wasn't an Arch Manning opt-out (he did eventually opt in) but rather a simple slip of the mind for Haladay. He didn't purposely opt out of the video game, he probably just didn't care enough to get the paperwork in on time. He forgot to opt in but he claims he's going to try and do so for the next update -- he also hasn't played the game yet.

That's right, the most popular sports video game of all time has gone unplayed by Haladay which, honestly, isn't that shocking either. He doesn't strike me as a gamer.

So for those who wondered why Haladay wasn't manning the middle of the Spartan defense (likely on the two-deep actually) in the new game, it's because the dude forgot to opt in.

Oops.
