Aidan Chiles stock is "up" according to On3 analyst
As the offseason progresses, the hype surrounding Aidan Chiles is only going to increase. That seems pretty insane to say considering the hype around the new Michigan State quarterback already is higher than even I ever imagined.
And that hype is coming from all across the country, not just from Michigan State fans.
The latest national analyst to praise Chiles is On3 columnist Jesse Simonton, who said Chiles' stock has gone up throughout the spring.
Jesse Simonton is an On3 columnist who specializes in his coverage of college football. His most recent piece focuses on transfer quarterbacks and how they progressed this spring and how their stock has been impacted. Some players were listed as "stock holding" meaning they did not overly impress Simonton this spring. However, Simonton was very impressed with Chiles, who was one of six quarterbacks whose stock went up.
When discussing what he likes about Chiles, Simonton said, "Still, the Spartans, which suffered major losses elsewhere on the roster during the second portal window, have their guy at quarterback, and Chiles, who’s a legitimate threat as a passer and runner, should immediately improve an offense that averaged just 15.9 points and 4.6 yards per play — both 13th in the Big Ten in 2023."
Simonton also shared that, "The promising sophomore reportedly had a solid spring, though he was just ok in Michigan State’s final scrimmage (50% passing, one touchdown)."
Even though Chiles may have had an average showing in the Spartans' Spring Showcase, he was still extremely impressive in my opinion. He made a few throws that I haven't seen made by a Michigan State quarterback in quite some time. He also clearly is an elite leader off the field, so I do believe he has all the makings of being the next great Michigan State quarterback.
But I'm obviously extremely biased, that's why it is always nice to hear praise thrown Chiles' way from someone who isn't inside the program or a Michigan State fan. Chiles is clearly impressing a lot of people throughout the country, and I can't wait for the first regular season game this fall.
