The last time I felt this good after a Michigan State football win was their Peach Bowl victory against Pittsburgh to end the 2021 season, but those positive feelings quickly returned after the Spartans' 27-24 win against Maryland this past weekend.

Not only was the fanbase over the moon after this win, but Michigan State's entire team was as well. The team gave us so many great reactions both in person and on social media that it really made it feel like MSU football was back.

But one celebration that got lost in the shuffle was quarterback Aidan Chiles who did something I haven't seen many guys do before. Immediately after the game Chiles was asked to be interviewed by the Big Ten Network, but before doing so he had to go to the stands to give his mom a hug first.

Most players nowadays would immediately jump at the opportunity to be interviewed on live TV especially after such an emotional win, even I wouldn't be able to resist that offer if I was in Chiles shoes. But that attention does't matter to Chiles, at least not more than other things.

Chiles choosing to go celebrate with his mom in the stands before being interviewed shows the character he posseses and the head that is on his shoulders. This shows that all of the outside noise (whether good or bad) really doesn't matter to him, and that's exactly what you want to see from your starting quarterback and captain.

This video reinforces everything we heard all offseason about how great of a leader Chiles is. It also makes naming an 18-year-old quarterback who's in their first year as a starter a captain make more sense as well.

Chiles has all the tools to be an elite quarterback, he showed this on the field against Maryland and in this postgame video as well. I can't wait to see where his career takes him not just this season but during the rest of his time in East Lansing.
