Is anyone else still shaking after that game? Michigan State football played very well in the first half but the first 20 minutes of the second half were less than ideal. But MSU never gave up, fought until the end of the game, and came away with a massive 27-24 road win at Maryland behind the game-winning field goal from Jonathan Kim.

I couldn't be more proud of the team after this win, and the fact that this is how Jonathan Smith gets his first Big Ten win makes it even better.

There are 100 takeaways I have from this game, but here are the three that stand out the most.

1. The Aidan Chiles experience

I love Aidan Chiles. Is he the perfect quarterback? No, but it's clear that he vastly improved from Week 1 and has the tools to be an elite quarterback.

Chiles had his moments where you could tell that he was only starting the second game of his career. Some costly interceptions, overthrows and not extending the ball on a third-and-10 when he could've picked up the first down stand out to me as things that can easily be improved on.

But for all the things Chiles didn't do well, he did even more better.

When the game entered the fourth quarter, Chiles woke up. Everyone's going to remember the long touchdown pass to Marsh, but he did many other things well especially on that final drive. Instead of taking more deep shots, he threw the ball underneath to pick up the easy yards. Chiles also knew when to tuck the ball and pick up a few yards with his legs as well.

Chiles still has a long way to go, nobody's denying that, but the future of Michigan State football is bright with Chiles under center.
