Believe it or not, but it's been a busy week for Michigan State football coach Jonathan Smith.

Sure, his Spartans are on a bye, but that hasn't stopped him from working overtime. He has been offering some new transfer portal entrants like Donaven McCulley from Indiana and South Carolina's Bangally Kamara. Both of those guys would be immediate roster upgrades and would bring some veteran leadership but he's also focused on his 2025 class.

But just because he's working on that 2025 class doesn't mean he's ignoring immediate needs.

In fact, Smith just offered the No. 1 JUCO cornerback in the nation this week and now Keshawn Davila is planning a visit to East Lansing, according to his Twitter profile and Allen Trieu.

Getting a visit from Davila is huge because he would fill an immediate position of need, especially with Ed Woods graduating after this season.

Charles Brantley has been one of the most improved players in college football this season and that has to be attractive for a player like Davila who is looking to make that jump. Playing for a coach like Demetrice Martin who can turn your career around and get you to the NFL is attractive for any young recruit, let alone the No. 1 cornerback at the JUCO level.

Davila is ranked the No. 1 cornerback as well as the No. 15 overall JUCO prospect in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports. He'll be taking his official visit to East Lansing on Oct. 18.

This would be a huge addition to the Spartans' 2025 class. They'll also be battling Boise State, Illinois, SMU, UCF, and Washington State for his services.
