It's hard to believe that August is here and Michigan State football is almost upon us, but there are some Spartans in action already, starting their senior seasons at the high school level.

Michigan State has 22 commits to keep an eye on this fall as they navigate through their final prep seasons before heading to East Lansing to begin their collegiate careers.

Some players have already kicked off their senior seasons, and one of them looks like an absolute diamond in the rough, given his current recruiting ranking. Three-star tight end Joey Caudill looks like a guy who could, and should, exceed his current recruiting ranking on 247Sports, which currently has him as the No. 886 prospect in the country.

Over the weekend, he kicked off his senior year with a heck of a game, putting up an insane stat line to really show how impressive of an athlete he is.

That's right, Caudill plays a little quarterback as well as on the defensive side of the ball, putting up 209 passing yards, two touchdowns through the air, 92 rushing touchdowns, and two more scores on the offensive side. On defense, he was solid, too, racking up five tackles and a tackle for loss.

Caudill is projected to play tight end at the collegiate level, but he's clearly an impressive all-around athlete, totaling over 300 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns in his season opener, while also recording five tackles and a tackle for loss on defense.

Jonathan Smith may have dug deep to find Caudill, but he may be one of the most versatile recruits he's landed since he took over at Michigan State.
