Samson Gash delivered Pat Fitzgerald and Michigan State football fans some really good news on Wednesday morning, signing his National Letter of Intent with the Spartans after previous flirtations with Alabama, Georgia, Penn State, and West Virginia.

The middle Gash brother was being pursued heavily by Penn State before Wednesday’s signing day, and he nearly signed with both Alabama and West Virginia during the early period in December.

In the end, though, it was Fitzgerald who won out, utilizing Gash’s relationship with Courtney Hawkins to win over the four-star receiver. He now joins his older brother, Caleb Gash, on the roster for the 2026 season, but as I mentioned, there’s one more sibling on Fitzgerald’s radar.

Gideon Gash, the youngest of the three, is one of the top defensive backs in the 2027 class and he may be considered a “package deal” with his older brother Samson.

With Samson’s re-commitment, and signing, to Michigan State on Wednesday, there have been some falling dominoes, and one seems to be the fate of his younger brother. Shortly after signing with Michigan State, the Spartans received a couple of predictions on On3 to land his four-star brother from recruiting experts.

The 2026 season will be huge for Gideon Gash’s decision

While it might seem like Michigan State has all the advantages in the recruitment of Gideon Gash, making sure the 2026 season isn’t a complete disaster is important.

Samson and Caleb are going to be on the roster, but if they don’t mesh with the coaching staff or they don’t play much and opt to transfer following the year, that would obviously mess with Michigan State’s pursuit of Gideon. He would likely not give Fitzgerald a chance if one, or both, of his brothers decides to transfer from the program.

By all accounts, players are buying in to what Fitzgerald is selling, and that was basically confirmed by Samson when he chose to sign with Michigan State. He said that he believed Fitzgerald would get Michigan State back to the top.

Gideon may be the most talented of the three Gash brothers, and he’s ranked the No. 304 overall prospect and he’s the seventh-best in-state recruit.

Can Fitzgerald complete the Gash trifecta?
