The Link Academy-to-Michigan State basketball pipeline might just be getting stronger by the day.
A couple of weeks ago, Link Academy point guard, and top-100 prospect, Carlos Medlock Jr. committed to Michigan State. He's originally from Michigan, so the connection was obvious, but he may have just helped set Izzo up with one of the best pipelines in the country.
While Medlock is already committed, he'll have a chance to do some recruiting of his own as his team is loaded with Division I talent.
In fact, Michigan State has already offered two centers from Link Academy and both have scheduled visits to East Lansing this fall. The first is five-star big man Ethan Taylor who Michigan State just offered, and the other is four-star center Tristan Reed, the younger brother of former Michigan big man Tarris Reed.
On Wednesday, another name from Link Academy emerged as a Michigan State target: Davion Thompson.

Obviously the article is behind a paywall, so if you want to read about what he's saying about Michigan State, you'll need to subscribe to On3. However, this does give away the fact that Izzo is targeting the five-star point guard in the 2027 class.
Thompson is also joining Link Academy this summer and will be sharing a backcourt with Medlock, so the connection there is immediate. Having Medlock in his ear all season will be a plus.
Michigan, Indiana, and Tennessee are also pursuing the five-star point guard.
The 6-foot-2, 160-pound guard originally from Bolingbrook, Ill., is ranked the No. 16 overall prospect in the 2027 class. He's also the nation's second-best point guard and Missouri's top recruit.
Izzo could land back-to-back elite Link Academy point guards, but he's going to need Medlock's help.
