The recruitment of Jasiah Jervis is heating up. The top Michigan State basketball target in the 2026 recruiting class has been taking his visits and trimming his list over the last month, and it looks like he's getting closer to a decision.

About a month ago, Jervis announced that he was down to eight schools: Oregon, Texas, Pitt, NC State, Illinois, Florida, Tennessee, and Michigan State.

On Friday, he announced that two schools have been cut from his list and he would not be taking official visits to them anymore.

Those schools are Oregon and Texas.

This is a massive development because Michigan State is now one of six finalists for the top-40 shooting guard from New York. He was just on a visit during Grind Week with Carlos Medlock Jr. and recent Michigan commit Quinn Costello. Now, he faces one final visit to Illinois next weekend before he makes his decision.

Jervis' timeline has seemingly been sped up lately, and it feels like Tom Izzo's full-court press has had something to do with that. The Spartans have stopped in to see him twice since his campus visit a couple of weeks ago, showing that they want him badly to join the 2026 class.

Jervis is ranked the No. 34 overall recruit, and he's the second-best shooting guard in the 2026 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Imagine a future backcourt with Medlock running point and Jervis playing on the wing as an athletic two-guard. He could be the next legitimate one-and-done candidate for Michigan State, but he has to commit first. It feels like a decision is coming soon.
