Pat Fitzgerald is getting his spring visit schedule set up with some big-time targets set to make their way to East Lansing to check out the new-look Michigan State football program.

The first-year head coach is securing some important visits at some key positions.

One of the latest scheduled visits is coming from four-star defensive lineman Marvin Nguetstop who will reportedly be on campus on St. Patrick’s Day which also happens to be the first day of spring practice. This is a prime opportunity to show the four-star defensive lineman what his future could be like one year from now.

Corey Robinson of 247Sports was the one who broke the news.

Nguetsop is high on four programs right now, according to 247Sports: Michigan State, Georgia, Texas, and Ole Miss. That’s a loaded group for Fitzgerald to have to win, but he looks to be in a really good spot with the four-star lineman from Connecticut.

He’s also ranked the No. 221 overall recruit and 25th-best defensive lineman in the 2027 class.

This is an important visit because it’s on Nguetsop’s own dime and he’s planning a return trip on the weekend of May 29 for his official.

Michigan State needs a player like Marvin Nguetsop

Looking at the roster heading into the 2026 season, there’s a clear weakness on the defensive line. The Spartans haven’t had a great pass rush for years and the defensive line has just left a lot to be desired. I fully expect Fitzgerald to address the position group heavily in the 2027 class.

After losing Alex VanSumeren and Jalen Thompson to the transfer portal this offseason, it‘s clear that this position group needs a ton of help. Winston DeLattiboudere II needs some pieces to work with. He has Derrick Simmons and a couple of other intriguing players in his room, but adding Nguetsop in 2027 would be huge considering which programs are pushing for him

Nguetsop is a 6-foot-7.5, 270-pound defensive lineman who would look really good next to Simmons next season in the middle of that defensive line.

I fully expect Michigan State to be in this recruitment until the very end, and I like the Spartans’ chances.
