Michigan State’s 2027 recruiting class grew by one on Friday night on the first day of June 5 official visits and it was in viral fashion.
The Spartans are hosting several uncommitted recruits this weekend in the hopes of building on a strong start to official visits with a slew of four-stars visiting and two linebacker commits shortly after.
Pat Fitzgerald is doing a pretty good job of selling the program despite it not having any recent success. He’s now landed three commitments from visitors over the past seven days. His latest commitment was the most viral as the unranked recruit shared the moment he told Fitzgerald and the rest of the staff in front of a packed room that he was choosing the Spartans.
New commit Cordaro Parham’s dad shared the awesome video on Twitter.

”I wanna announce my commitment to be a Spartan,” Parham said in front of a smiling Fitzgerald who immediately raised his arms into the air in celebration.
Rarely do you get to see the coach’s reaction to a commitment but this was a cool moment that I’m sure every Spartan is glad that got caught on camera. Fitzgerald was clearly pumped that he received his first commitment of official visit weekend No. 2 on the first day.
Parham is one of a few unranked official visitors on campus this weekend and he may be the most overlooked. It’s only a matter of time before he gets his first ranking, but the 6-foot-2, 178-pound cornerback from Jefferson, Ga., is going to fly under the radar for the time being.
The other Power Four program to offer Parham was Kansas State.
Having several Michigan State commits on campus can’t hurt
I said it before the weekend even kicked off, but having five committed Spartans on campus this weekend is going to yield some good news. These guys are going to work on their fellow 2027 classmates all weekend and some commitments are surely going to come.
The first happened just hours into day one of his official visit and now he joins the fold of commits who can work on others to join the class.
This is a relatively quiet recruiting weekend compared to last week, but there are still some big-time targets on campus. Fitzgerald is building a class of overlooked recruits and time will tell if that’s going to pay off like it did for Mark Dantonio or backfire. We’ll find out soon enough.
