There aren’t many players as hard-working as former Michigan State linebacker Jordan Turner.
The four-year Big Ten linebacker got his career started at Wisconsin where he spent three years before transferring to Michigan State for his senior season. He played well during that final season and did enough to earn some NFL looks.
Turner was always the high-motor guy on the defensive side of the ball, and while Michigan State fell short of its goals in 2024, he played well. In fact, he had one of his best games as a collegiate linebacker against Ohio State, and earned a massive grade from PFF which turned some heads.
During the 2024 season, he finished with 66 total tackles, a career-high 10.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two interceptions, and a pass breakup. He did just about everything for Joe Rossi’s defense.
Losing him clearly hurt the defense in 2025, but Jordan Hall is doing his best to pick up the slack, earning some honorable mention All-Big Ten honors.
Turner was one of the better defensive transfers that Michigan State has had over the years.
And now he’s getting some attention at the professional level.
Jordan Turner finally got the call from the Broncos (again)
After working hard on the practice squad and after an impressive preseason, Turner is finally getting the call that he’s been waiting for: he’s headed to the active roster — again.
Former Michigan State LB and captain Jordan Turner has officially made a 53-man roster leading into this week’s matchup against Green Bay.

Turner has played 3 games this year as an elevation from the practice squad, but is now officially on the roster. https://t.co/nU0eW7tiu2
Turner has already spent some time up with the Broncos, recording three total tackles this season in four appearances now. He didn’t record any stats against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, but he adds depth to an already-impressive Denver Broncos defense.
As long as he has that same toughness that he exuded at Michigan State, he’s going to have a long, successful NFL career. He’s going to have to fight for roster spots, but he’s built for it.
In just a short time in East Lansing, he was able to win over coaches, fans, and his teammates and become one of the leaders of the defense. He became a starter and represented Michigan State well. Now the Broncos are about to see just how good of a player he can be.
