One of the best in-state recruits in the 2027 class is eying a return trip to Michigan State to check out the program that Pat Fitzgerald is in the middle of rebuilding — though Fitzgerald calls it a rebirth.

Michigan State has had a couple of big recruiting weekends this spring already and Fitzgerald is making moves with some of his top 2027 targets, and even some guys in 2028 like top-100 offensive lineman Antijuan Wilkes from Detroit. He’s working on building pipelines in the state.

Well, he could be making serious moves with another elite in-state target with Michigan State connections as four-star defensive back Gideon Gash is reportedly in East Lansing.

According to Jason Killop of On3, the four-star brother of Caleb Gash and Samson Gash was on campus to check out practice earlier on Tuesday afternoon.

It goes without saying, but the youngest Gash is a priority in the 2027 class. He’s been on Fitzgerald’s radar ever since he was hired, and landing his brother, Samson, in the 2026 class was a huge step in the right direction for that recruitment. Caleb being on the roster also helps.

The youngest of three Gash brothers is ranked as the No. 100 overall recruit in the 2027 class as well as the third-best in-state recruit, per 247Sports.

Both crystal balls on 247Sports for Gideon favor the Spartans.

Gideon Gash could complete the latest Spartan brother trio

Michigan State has had a history of recruiting brothers of players, and it just makes sense, especially when they’re often better than their older siblings — or at least rumored to be.

Gash wouldn’t be the first Spartan brother trio if he were to commit to Michigan State. It’s actually much more common than you think, but it’s happened several times since the start of the Mark Dantonio era.

Jack, Brian and Matt Allen, Max, Riley, and Byron Bullough, and Andrew, David, and Michael Dowell all come to mind when thinking about past trios to play for the green and white.

Fitzgerald could take a page right out of Dantonio’s book and land his first one before his second season in East Lansing begins in 2027.
