Tom Izzo’s 2026 recruiting class is picking up momentum, and it’s only right that this group becomes one of his best to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of “The Class” led by Cassius Winston, Josh Langford, Nick Ward, and Miles Bridges.

So far, the Spartans have landed Carlos Medlock Jr. and Julius Avent, giving Michigan State one of the best two-man classes in the nation with room for 2-3 more commits.

Avent said right after he committed that he’s going to be working on getting four-star shooting guard Jasiah Jervis to join the Spartans’ class, and that was exactly what fans wanted to hear. Recruits who recruit other top prospects to join them in East Lansing always become fan favorites.

Heck, Nick Ward was responsible to recruiting other guys to join him in 2016, and Jeremy Fears Jr. held that responsibility a couple of years ago — he was able to get Xavier Booker, Gehrig Normand, and Coen Carr to join him in East Lansing.

While Avent is working on Jervis, Medlock has gotten to work on another top target. Apparently, he’s headed back to campus to help Izzo with five-star center Ethan Taylor.

Taylor is the nation’s No. 2 center in the 2026 class, per 247Sports, and he has begun his official visit with Michigan State. He’s going to be on campus this weekend for the Izzone Campout and Midnight Madness, which is one of the best recruiting weekends of the year.

He’ll also be joined by Medlock Jr. who is coming back to campus for the second time in a month, but this one is a business trip. The four-star point guard is trying to get his high school teammate to join him in Michigan State’s 2026 class. This is an ideal scenario for Izzo and Co.

Medlock already took his official during Grind Week, and he decided to come back on his own dime to help Izzo recruit arguably the top center in the class.

The two commits in the 2026 class are recruiting on their own. Izzo has to be thrilled.
