Tom Izzo’s recruiting efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. The Hall of Fame head coach just got done hosting two top targets and a commit over the weekend, and then the second that official visit was through, he hopped on a plane to check in on Jasiah Jervis and Maximo Adams.

Michigan State’s legendary head coach is recruiting at an elite level and he already has a two-man 2026 class of Carlos Medlock Jr. and Julius Avent. He’s trying to add 2-3 more.

Right now, it looks like he’s in a really good spot with five-star center Ethan Taylor as well as Jervis, a four-star shooting guard from New York. He also looks like a serious contender for Adams, a five-star small forward.

If all goes as planned, he could have one of his best recruiting classes as Michigan State’s head coach, which is saying a lot because he’s had some elite groups.

One of his 2026 targets is drawing some comparisons to a Michigan State legend, which only improves the potential outlook of the class.

Jervis described his game to Jamie Shaw of On3, and he said that he’s been told that he plays like Gary Harris, but he models his game around Michigander Devin Booker as well as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Talk about some positive comps for the young shooting guard.

Jervis’ finalists are NC State, Florida, Tennessee, Illinois, Pitt, and Michigan State, and it just feels like Izzo and the Spartans are putting in the most work here. Izzo has visited him three times since his official back in early September for Grind Week, and he’s made him the No. 1 priority.

It feels like he may be coming close to a decision soon, and Michigan State fans are begging for some good news.

The four-star shooting guard is ranked the No. 35 overall recruit in the 2026 class, per 247Sports.

Gary Harris 2.0 paired with one of the best shooting guards in the class, a top-80 power forward, the No. 2 center, and a five-star small forward? The 2026 group could be really special.
