After entering the transfer portal a couple of weeks ago, now-former Michigan State wide receiver Nick Marsh is going to have plenty of potential suitors.

Marsh began his time in the transfer portal as the No. 1 player, but that will surely change as the seasons of some of the top teams come to an end. He’s one of the most talented players in the country, but there are sure to be more high-profile transfers in the portal like DJ Lagway and Dylan Raiola, among others.

With Marsh hitting the portal, there are some early favorites to land him. Here are the four programs that I believe will be worth watching when Marsh comes down to a decision.

1. LSU

Honestly, this could be labeled as “insert SEC program here” because there are going to be several programs from the south looking to add Marsh to their 2026 rosters. I’m going with LSU here because the Tigers have the money and Lane Kiffin likes to cause chaos. Nothing would be more chaotic than adding one of the best receivers in the country via the transfer portal.

LSU has been WRU over the years, and Marsh knows that. He also knows that LSU would be able to offers some serious NIL money. He would also be in a system that favors talented wide receivers.

If it’s not LSU from the SEC, I could see it being Georgia, Alabama, or even Florida.

2. Indiana

This has been an early rumor, and I don’t love it. Why? It hurts seeing Indiana have more success than Michigan State, especially as a historically mediocre football program. But Curt Cignetti has been a revelation, and he’s committed to turning Indiana into a perennial powerhouse.

Last year has proven not to be an anomaly as Indiana has won the Big Ten and will be the No. 1 team in the College Football Playoff field. No, that’s not a typo.

Indiana has been labeled as a team to watch for Marsh, and I could see him being offered a nice NIL deal as well as a chance to win the Big Ten and a national title in Bloomington. Keeping Marsh away from the Big Ten would be best-case scenario, but this feels very possible.

3. Notre Dame

Notre Dame is another program that has been rumored to be interested in Marsh, and it would make sense to have the soon-to-be junior team up with CJ Carr in that offense. Those two would create one of the best quarterback-receiver combinations in the country.

This one may all depend on in Marcus Freeman plans on remaining at Notre Dame or if he’s going to flirt with an NFL job. If he stays, that obviously helps the Irish’s chances of landing Marsh.

If Freeman leaves, however, it would likely ruin Notre Dame’s chances, pending a replacement hire.

4. Penn State

I decided to include a fourth team, because this one just feels right. While Matt Campbell is now in charge, Penn State is still a school that the sophomore wideout took a really close look at.

Was he interested more in the school or the coach at the time? Probably a little of both, but Marsh is very familiar with Penn State, and this could be a huge early splash for Campbell.

Honorable mentions: Oregon, Virginia Tech

It feels like Dan Lansing and the Ducks are always connected to top transfers, and this would make a ton of sense considering Oregon has a high-octane offense and Marsh would flourish there.

Oh, and if Dante Moore returns, that Michigan connection would be electric.

As for Virginia Tech, I’m just going off of his high school recruitment. The Hokies hired James Franklin after he was let go by Penn State and Marsh has a great relationship with the former Nittany Lions head coach. The relationship is there, it just depends on whether Marsh wants to go to a rebuilding ACC school or somewhere more established.
