2. MSU playing its best offense of the season

Over the past four games, Michigan State has been shooting lights out. Prior to this recent four-game stretch of 80-plus point games, the Spartans had scored 80 in just two games all year.

This offense is heating up at the perfect time.

And playing teams like a red-hot Ohio State, Iowa, or Purdue, the Spartans will need to be able to win shootouts. While I’d hope to think the defense improves so shootouts aren’t necessary, those three teams can score in bunches and have shown that lately.

Jaden Akins, Tyson Walker, and AJ Hoggard are all averaging over 15 points per game over the last three and the Spartans are shooting a piping-hot 58 percent from 3-point range in that three-game span against Iowa, Nebraska, and Ohio State. This team is making an unfathomable percentage of threes.

Now, heading into March, that will need to continue as they’ll likely face other teams getting hot at the right time (like Iowa and Ohio State) and they’ll need to shoot lights out.

They’ll do that.

This offense is unreal right now.
