Linebackers: B

Why is this grade so low? It’s all based on the fact that Michigan State only signed one linebacker in the class so I think a B is the highest possible grade with a one-man position group.

And Jordan Hall is the difference between this group being a B instead of a C. Usually, I’d think a C is a fair grade for one signee at a position not named quarterback or running back, but Hall is just that good. He was a three-year captain at IMG Academy which is unheard of and he was one of the best linebackers in the nation.

Hall is ranked the No. 163 overall recruit and 14th-best linebacker in the 2023 class and he should be a terrific leader in the green and white.

I’d usually be harsher on a small linebacker class, but it’s arguably the deepest position group on the team with Cal Haladay, Aaron Brule, Jacoby Windmon, Ma’a Gaoteote, Darius Snow, Quavian Carter, and Tank Brown coming back. Oh, and Aaron Alexander is transferring in.

The addition of Hall is the cherry on top.
