Defensive backs: B

Not the best defensive backs class, but also not the worst.

Michigan State missed out on some big-time targets that likely would have made this an easy A, but that’s just the nature of recruiting.

Guys like Caleb Presley, Ryan Yaites, Daylen Austin, Jaylon Braxton, Colton Hood, King Mack, Elliot Washington, and Jayden Bonsu would have all been great in the green and white and all, at one point or another, looked like Michigan State leans but the Spartans settled on a four-man class of all three-stars.

Chance Rucker is the highest-rated of the group as a borderline four-star cornerback and he’s ranked the No. 453 overall prospect in the nation. A really good pick-up here.

Eddie Pleasant follows him up as a three-star cornerback ranked No. 880 in the country and then there was Arizona flip Sean Brown, another cornerback, and signing day addition Philipp Davis, a three-star who plays safety.

These guys all have potential but don’t expect to see them early on.
