Michigan State Football: 5 players who will blow up in 2022
I’m ready to kickstart the Simeon Barrow bandwagon because it’s been a little too quiet this offseason despite him having a really solid 2021 season.
As a redshirt freshman in 2021, Barrow had an impressive first year of action, posting 34 tackles, four tackles for loss, and three sacks. He was dynamite right next to Jacob Slade and the two are only going to get better and feed more off each other this season.
It’s hard to believe that Barrow has only played one season of college football after redshirting in 2020, but he is so young and still so raw. But Marco Coleman had plenty of praise for him during preseason camp, stating that he might be one of the best defensive tackles in all of college football along with Slade.
Because he’s being so overlooked, I’m going to say he’ll jump off the screen and surprise people in 2022. He’s going to absolutely explode on a loaded defensive line to the tune of 50-plus tackles and five-plus sacks.
We hear all about Slade, but we can’t sleep on Barrow.
