Former Spartan Connor Heyward has been turning heads at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ camp over the past few days and he looks like a budding star.

Michigan State’s rookies have been putting in some serious work this preseason.

Earlier, I wrote about Jalen Nailor being a potential steal for the Vikings after showing off at camp and now, Connor Heyward looks like he’s bursting onto the scene with the Steelers in a big way.

Heyward has been flashing his talent and high football IQ all week at Steelers camp and he looks like a guy that can contribute heavily in 2022.

Here are some of his best plays:

Heyward has been playing so well this past week that he’s drawing some praise from former players and just about everyone else on social media who has seen him rise to the occasion.

When the Steelers drafted him back in the spring, everyone saw it as a perfect fit. He is tough as nails and he’s the younger brother of Cam Heyward who is known for being one of the most intimidating defenders in the league. He couldn’t have ended up in a better place, especially since his brother can show him the ropes.

The transition appears to have been seamless for Heyward.

It’s crazy to think that Heyward was overlooked on the roster (even by myself) just a couple of years ago and he decided to enter the transfer portal because he just didn’t fit in Michigan State’s running back rotation.

Now, he’s playing the position that suits him best and he’s on the verge of being a legit offensive threat in the NFL. You love to see it.
